Simone Biles explains why she got a boob job and confesses to two more plastic surgery procedures

Simone Biles has recently chosen to speak publicly about the cosmetic procedures she has undergone, framing the conversation around personal agency and self-respect rather than aesthetic expectation.

The 11-time Olympic medalist, who is married to Chicago Bears star Jonathan Owens, emphasized that transparency is important to her, particularly because she knows young audiences follow her career and may relate more to her personal experiences than to her competitive accomplishments.

Biles confirmed that she opted for a breast augmentation, noting that the decision was not driven by dissatisfaction with her appearance.

“Okay, obviously you can notice the breasts,” Biles told People. “But other than that, it’s just feeling good about yourself and loving yourself, and I’ve always been very vocal about that.

“And not that I didn’t like the way I looked or the way I felt. It’s just something that I notice obviously a little bit more because I live in this body, I’m just so used to it.”

Biles goes under the knife

It comes after Biles revealed on TikTok that she underwent three plastic surgeries, adding “two of them, you would never be able to tell.”

She added: “Seeing me win medals at the Olympics, that’s not relatable,” Biles said. “But what is relatable is how we feel about ourselves, what we talk about, what we go through and how we share openly, honestly. And so that’s why I decided to share it,” she added, referring to the TikTok video.

Among them was a lower blepharoplasty – a surgery that reduces under-eye bags and excess eyelid skin – which she pursued because her family has a hereditary tendency toward prominent under-eye puffiness.

“I got a lower bleph because me and my family have, I call it the ‘Biles eye bags’. We’ve just always had them, hereditary, and so that was just a big flaw. Every time I would go to a shoot, they’re like, ‘Oh, can we put some strips on her?’

“And I was like, ‘Oh, baby, I had 12 hours last night, these aren’t going away. These are just hereditary,’ ” she shares, adding, “So it’s something that I wanted to fix.”

Biles’ honest admission in a shallow world

Living in a body that endures the physical demands of elite gymnastics, she said she is acutely aware of its details, and the change was simply something that felt right for her.

Biles also disclosed that she underwent a separate procedure to repair an earlobe that had been damaged when an earring was torn out during childhood. She did not specify the dates of any of the operations but noted that the decision to discuss them publicly was deliberate.

Biles stated that while her athletic achievements may not be relatable to most people, the emotions surrounding self-image and personal choice are universal. She said this distinction is one of the reasons she chose to share her experiences openly.

In her view, acknowledging the realities of self-perception – including decisions some might consider private – helps counter unrealistic standards reinforced by social media.

Changing attitudes towards body image

To illustrate that not all cosmetic interventions produce desirable outcomes, Biles mentioned trying Botox for her 27th birthday and disliking the result, which caused an uneven appearance in her eyebrow area.

By sharing that experience, she aimed to underscore that cosmetic options are neither necessary nor guaranteed to meet expectations.

Her broader message is directed at young girls who may feel pressure to conform to certain beauty ideals. Biles emphasized that individuals have the right to make their own choices regarding their bodies without shame.

Whether someone chooses to pursue a procedure or avoid it entirely, she said, the most important element is that the decision stems from self-respect rather than external pressure.

Her openness serves, in her view, as a reminder that confidence is shaped by personal preferences, transparency, and honesty about one’s own journey.
