The postseason has begun, and many already have their favorites. Some contending teams have fallen by the wayside, but others, like the Los Angeles Dodgers, remain alive and strong candidates to repeat as World Series champions. The path won’t be easy, but they’ve now gained support from one of MLB‘s greatest hitters.

Manny Ramírez goes all-in with Dodgers, forgetting Boston Red Sox

While Manny Ramírez is best remembered for his clutch hits with the Red Sox, it seems there’s a particular reason he’s now rooting for the Dodgers, another team he played for during his MLB career.

He revealed as much during a conversation on the Foul Territory podcast, where he appeared wearing a Los Angeles Dodgers jersey and cap.

“Everything is good, LA Baby, all the way,” were his opening words before adding, “I’m rooting a little bit for Boston, but I’m taking LA all the way. I’m an Ohtani fan, baby. MVP!”

And it’s no surprise. It’s no secret that Shohei Ohtani‘s arrival in MLB has changed everything, and his signing with the Dodgers has won them thousands of new fans.

The Dodgers will begin their quest for a second consecutive World Series title against the Cincinnati Reds, a team that clinched their postseason berth on the final day of the regular season.

Many believe the Dave Roberts-led Dodgers will sweep the Wild Card series 2-0, though anything can happen at this stage of the season, and surprises are always possible.

In August, the Dodgers swept the Reds at home, dominating the season series with ease, outscoring them 30-15 in run differential.
