Mexican boxer Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez will face William Scull in a fight scheduled for May 3 in Saudi Arabia. The bout is an opportunity for Canelo to reclaim the International Boxing Federation (IBF) title, which he lost in September 2024 after not facing Scull previously, who now holds the belt.

Canelo, current champion of the World Boxing Council (WBC), the World Boxing Association (WBA), and the World Boxing Organization (WBO), is aiming to once again unify the super middleweight titles. Meanwhile, the Cuban opponent arrives with an undefeated record of 23-0. However, just two weeks before the fight, the Mexican star has made a splash on social media.

Canelo Álvarez becomes the new face of luxury brand AMIRI

The new luxury clothing brand featuring Mexican boxer Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez is led by designer Mike Amiri. The relationship between the designer and the boxer began in California, where both parties reached an impressive, undisclosed agreement.

“I’m excited to partner with Amiri and to work with Mike Amiri, a designer I admire and a brand I truly respect,” said Canelo Álvarez.

The brand highlighted the boxer’s career and especially the courage that defines him as an athlete and as a fashion icon. Designer Mike Amiri welcomed Canelo, stating:

“Amiri is proud to announce Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez as a global brand ambassador. His dedication to craftsmanship and his commitment to excellence serve as inspiration across cultures around the world.”

Canelo joins a select group of ambassadors who collaborate with the brand, including musicians, filmmakers, and athletes.

Jaime Munguía to be on the same card as Canelo

Jaime Munguía will be featured on the same card as Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez on May 3, 2025, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Munguía will face undefeated French boxer Bruno Surace as part of the event organized by Riyadh Season.

This bout promises to be a war, following their previous encounter in which the Frenchman knocked out the Mexican in Tijuana a few months ago. Now, it’s time for the rematch.
