Sandy Ryan’s career has seen a lightning rise. From her 2021 debut against Kristie Bavington to her fight this Saturday against Mikaela Mayer, Ryan has distinguished herself with her talent in the ring. That same talent has earned her increasingly larger purses, increasing her net worth exponentially every time she steps on the canvas.

Ryan has showcased her punching power since she was an amateur boxer. In her senior championship debut at the 2014 World Championships, the Derby, England, native won the silver medal in the light middleweight division, and in 2018, she won the welterweight gold medal at the Commonwealth Games.

The English fighter made her professional boxing debut on July 31, 2021, with a decision win over Bavington on a Matchroom Boxing card. At the time, Ryan received a salary of just $1,500, but that was merely the first step in a successful career.

Sandy Ryan’s net worth

According to specialized sites such as Essentially Sports and Sporty Salaries, Ryan’s net worth is between $1.5 and $2 million. After her modest start against Bavington, the fighter has earned increasingly larger purses, but her first six-figure payday arrived in 2023, along with her first world championship.

At the time, Ryan received $175,000 to face Marie Pier House in a fight for the vacant WBO welterweight title. Ryan won and subsequently successfully defended the title twice against Jessica McCaskill and Terri Harper. Her earnings for those fights were $200,000 and $250,000, respectively.

But Ryan’s big breakthrough was yet to come. In September 2024, Ryan put her WBO belt on the line against Mikaela Mayer. The Englishwoman lost the title in an epic fight, but at least she pocketed a check for $1.5 million, of which $425,000 was her salary, and the rest from a share of pay-per-view (PPV) buys.

Ryan vs. Mayer II

Before her first fight against Mayer, Ryan was the victim of an attack by an unknown assailant. The English fighter claims that the blow with a paint can affected her performance and demanded a direct rematch against Mayer.

The promoters agreed and set a date for Saturday, March 29, 2025. According to Sporty Salaries, Ryan will receive a guaranteed $350,000 for entering the ring and up to an additional $400,000 if the PPV exceeds 400,000 buys.
