San Diego FC announces its new owner as an MLS team: Tems

San Diego FC (SDFC) has announced Tems, a singer, songwriter and producer from Lagos, Nigeria, as the latest addition to the SDFC ownership group as a Club Partner. Tems, a two-time GRAMMY Award winner and Oscar-nominated artist, joins through her company The Leading Vibe. Known for her unique voice, Tems brings her creative spirit and passion for the community to the world of soccer as an SDFC club partner.

“We are delighted that Tems is joining San Diego FC as a Club Partner,” said SDFC owner Sir Mohamed Mansour. “Tems is a globally significant artist who will help us reach new audiences and spread our project, which of course has its roots in sub-Saharan Africa through Right to Dream.”

Tems joins the Socios Club

“Tems is an extraordinary artist and a global cultural force,” said SDFC CEO Tom Penn. “It is an honor to have her at our club and to bring her visionary perspective to San Diego FC.”

Tems has captivated audiences around the world with her music, earning accolades such as a GRAMMY Award for Best African Music Performance for “Love Me JeJe” from her acclaimed debut album Born In The Wild, as well as a GRAMMY Award for her work on Future’s triple platinum hit single “Wait for U“, and Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations for her work on “Lift Me Up“, the lead single from the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack

Bringing football and music together

Her artistry and authenticity have made her an icon of empowerment and cultural connection, values that align perfectly with San Diego FC’s vision to unite communities through global soccer.
