We’re only a month and a week away from a true mega-fight. Pitting together two greats of the sport has never been easy, but boxing fans have been somewhat blessed in recent years. And this September, they may get a true spectacle when Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford square off
It’s almost an impossible task to foresee what will happen. Fans seem split on who to back, both emotionally and financially, but on paper it’s Alvarez who has the advantage. Crawford is stepping up two weight classes as he chases greatness. He already moved up a weight class for his previous fight, and he wasn’t able to dominate like he did before. I’m definitely going to be backing Canelo, but, you know, Crawford is a great fighter and he could surprise me, but right now, where I would put my money is Canelo Alvarez.
Garcia’s thoughts are how many analysts and boxers feel. Whether it plays out like they think it will is another story. Styles make fights and Crawford might very well be the most technically gifted one of them all. The question is if the extra weight will affect how he fights.
