Ravens inherit Maxx Crosby’s $29M deal – What contract adjustments are coming?

The Baltimore Ravens are expected to adjust Maxx Crosby’s contract following his blockbuster offseason trade from the Las Vegas Raiders, a move that could quickly reshape the financial terms of the star pass rusher’s deal.

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Baltimore will likely have a revised contract framework prepared shortly after Crosby officially joins the team.

“I suspect there will be an adjustment, and I suspect the Ravens are smart enough to know you need to have something ready to go,” Florio said in a social media video.

It needs to be pre-negotiated, and you get it done not long after Maxx Crosby officially becomes a member of the Ravens.

The deal, confirmed Friday night, represents one of the most significant trades of the NFL offseason. Baltimore reportedly sent a massive package to Las Vegas – including two first-round picks plus additional first-round selections in 2026 and 2027 – to acquire the five-time Pro Bowl edge rusher.

Crosby’s current contract is below the NFL elite

Several teams, including the Dallas Cowboys, were believed to have strong interest in Crosby, but Baltimore ultimately delivered the winning offer.

The Ravens are inheriting the remaining years of the three-year, $106.5 million extension Crosby signed in 2025, which carries an average annual value of about $35.5 million.

However, the deal includes yearly payouts closer to $29 million in some seasons – a figure that now falls below the top of the pass-rusher market.

Florio said that gap could prompt Baltimore to restructure the contract with higher guarantees or performance bonuses as teams continue to reset the market for elite defensive players.

Crosby arrives in Baltimore with a reputation as one of the league’s most disruptive edge defenders, capable of transforming a defense that struggled for consistency last season.

Crosby’s production is among the best in the league

Crosby’s career production since entering the NFL in 2019 includes:

  • 69.5 sacks
  • More than 130 tackles for loss
  • 360 quarterback pressures
  • Four double-digit sack seasons
  • Five Pro Bowl selections

Despite the Las Vegas Raiders finishing 3-14 last season, Crosby still recorded 10 sacks before missing the final two games with a knee injury.

His combination of production, durability, and leadership made him one of the most sought-after defenders on the market.

For Baltimore, the next step will be determining whether to revise Crosby’s contract immediately – a move that could secure one of the NFL’s top pass rushers long-term while reinforcing the franchise’s push toward contention in the 2026 season.
