Juan Soto has officially arrived at New York Mets‘ Spring Training, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his career after signing a historic 15-year, $765 million contract this offseason.

The Mets, fresh off an NLCS appearance, believe the superstar outfielder is the missing piece in their pursuit of a World Series title.

On Sunday, Soto reported to the Mets’ Spring Training facility in Port St. Lucie, Florida, where fans and teammates eagerly welcomed him.

The team’s official media outlet, SNY Mets, shared a clip of his arrival online.

“He’s here and he’s perfect. Juan Soto has arrived in Port St. Lucie,” the post read.

In the video, Soto made a stylish entrance in an all-black outfit, carrying a single bag and greeting photographers before acknowledging the excited crowd. His presence has already ignited excitement within the Mets organization and fanbase.

A new home after a dominant season

Soto spent the 2024 season with the New York Yankees, helping them secure a World Series berth. While multiple teams vied for his talents in free agency, the Mets made the most aggressive push, securing him with one of the biggest contracts in MLB history.

This will be the fourth team Soto has played for since his MLB debut in 2018. He began his career with the Washington Nationals, where he helped lead the team to a World Series title in 2019. In 2022, he was traded to the San Diego Padres before landing with the Yankees in 2024. Now, he is set to make a long-term impact in Queens.

Despite his brief time in the Bronx, Soto left a lasting impression on the Yankees. Ace pitcher Gerrit Cole acknowledged how much the team will miss his presence.

“He’s a magnificent player and a great teammate,” Cole said on Feb. 12.

“Juan is going to make the best decision for Juan… He was extremely impactful for us and a joy to be around.”

As Soto settles in with the Mets, expectations are sky-high. With his elite talent and the Mets’ championship aspirations, all eyes will be on him as he takes the field in 2025.
