Pitbull Cruz ready to be the new Canelo Alvarez: “Win at all costs”

Saul “Canelo” Alvarez‘s career is coming to an end. He has only two fights left with the promoter “Riyah Season” owned by Arab Sheikh Turki Alalshikh, which he will surely fulfill in the course of 2026 or at most in 2027 once the Mexican recovers from elbow surgery and still lacks rehabilitation sessions. However, with the twilight of a champion, new candidates are emerging to take his place both in the ring and in the hearts of Mexican fans.

In light of this, Isaac Cruz admits he is ready to fill the vacancy that will be left by Canelo. The famous “Pitbull” does not shy away from the challenge and is aware that Saul Alvarez’s retirement is getting closer and closer and he will gladly take on the possibility of becoming the new face of Mexican boxing worldwide. However, in order to do so, he will have to be accompanied and supported by extraordinary results and continuity in his boxing career, qualities that Canelo fulfilled to the letter.

Pitbull’s vision as the next great Mexican boxing champion

To match Canelo Alvarez’s credentials, Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz is still a long way off. However, the Mexico City native is one of the most media-friendly Mexican boxers today, so his name is already resonating in the main boxing associations worldwide.

To be talked about as the next face of Mexican boxing. It motivates me to receive the torch that Canelo leaves along the way. It drives me to seek perfection, but that doesn’t change my goal. As always, I want to make sure that the real winners are the fans.

The Mexico City boxer is preparing to face his next fight against Lamont Roach Jr on December 6 at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas, in the United States, and in his mind he has no other option but to win to continue to rise and finish the year undefeated after overcoming Angel Fierro and Omar Salcido. “Winning is the only option on December 6. Whether by knockout or by decision of the judges, it must be forceful. I know there is no room for error. We must win and we will do it round by round. My whole team is focused on the same goal: to win, no matter what”.

Pitbull Cruz must stay away from controversy to be a “Mexican idol”

However, the young career of “Pitbull” Cruz, who boasts a record of 28 wins, three losses and one draw, should be free of controversy. The planned rematch against Angel “Tashiro” Fierro in 2025 was cancelled due to Fierro having health complications while trying to make weight. Undoubtedly, the Mexican is unaware of this situation which was out of his hands and therefore wants to prove his quality against the American next month.

“We know we have a great opponent in front of us and we know that we cannot underestimate his boxing ability. We are studying all his previous fights and making sure we know both his strengths and weaknesses. We are getting stronger every day and that gives me more and more confidence that we will come out victorious on December 6,” said Cruz, who acknowledged that in Texas he will feel at home because of the presence of many Mexicans living in the United States, to whom he wants to give a good result.
