Pete Alonso announced on Sunday, September 28, 2025, that he will leave the New York Mets after their brutal failure this MLB season.

About his future with the New York Mets, the polar bear commented, “Playing for this organization, in this city, they have continued to believe in me. I love playing here. There are great people in this clubhouse, great people on the staff. Every day has been a pleasure to come to work and put on the orange and blue. I’ve really appreciated it and I’ve been nothing but full of gratitude every day. Nothing is guaranteed, but we’ll see what happens; I’ve loved being a Met. Hopefully they’ve appreciated me in the same way.”
