Paul Pogba defends Mbappé’s performance at Real Madrid and ranks him above CR7 and Ronaldo

Kylian Mbappé’s arrival at Real Madrid has sparked a wide range of opinions, both for and against, and despite his stats, the team’s recent elimination from the Champions League has put him in the crosshairs of criticism. However, Paul Pogba has come to the French forward’s defense.

The current Monaco star highlighted Kylian’s spectacular performance and directly compared him to two Real Madrid legends: Cristiano Ronaldo and Ronaldo Nazario.

Pogba defends Mbappé’s performance at Real Madrid

The 33-year-old midfielder appeared on his former teammate Rio Ferdinand’s podcast, and during the conversation, he did not hesitate to praise and highlight the contribution and impact the 27-year-old French forward has had at Real Madrid:

“Is there more to come from Kylian Mbappé? Winning the Ballon d’Or is just a matter of timing. For me, he’s been the best player all season. Now he’s even scoring more goals than before,” Pogba said on “Rio Ferdinand Presents,” (Via Mundo Deportivo).

For Pogba, it’s clear: Mbappé’s talent speaks for itself, and he’s destined to make his mark on the game. In fact, he noted that the Frenchman has managed to surpass the records of two of the team’s greatest scorers in his first year wearing the white jersey, a fact that underscores the magnitude of his impact on the team:

“He scored more goals than Cristiano Ronaldo and Ronaldo Nazario in his first season at Real Madrid,” he stated. “He can only get better; I’m not surprised,” he concluded.

In fact, according to the club itself, Mbappé became the player with the most goals in his first season as a Madrid player with 44, surpassing Iván Zamorano’s 37, Cristiano Ronaldo and Van Nistelrooy’s 33, and Ronaldo Nazario’s 30.

And this endorsement is not unusual, as he himself has witnessed Mbappé’s talent on the France national team, where, on more than one occasion, Kylian has come to his rescue: “We understand each other. Sometimes I strike the ball poorly, and yet he still gets there-he’s so fast. I know the runs he makes,” he said.

Thus, with the backing of figures like Pogba and statistics that place him on par with CR7 and Ronaldo Nazario, Kylian Mbappé not only delivers on the field but also responds to the criticism that accompanied his arrival, positioning himself as the club’s leading figure for both the present and the future.
