Round 1 went to the Green Bay Packers. Round 2? A stunning Chicago Bears win on the road. And, on Saturday, the NFC North rivals met again in the NFL playoffs for a rare Round 3 that, somehow, went to Chicago.
Caleb Williams and the NFC North champion Bears rallied from a 21-3 halftime deficit to earn a stunning 31-27 wild-card win over Jordan Love and the Packers at Soldier Field. Williams added to his historic season by leading Chicago to its first playoff win since 2010 in its first playoff appearance in five years in what was also the club’s first playoff game as division champs in seven years.Â
Meanwhile, Love’s Packers fell short in their third straight postseason appearance after giving themselves a good chance to advance further than their divisional-round run in 2023 and their wild-card loss last season.
