Packers’ Micah Parsons reacts to shocking trade: ‘Nooooo!’ Fans feel the bond

Micah Parsons reacted with shock on social media after learning that the Green Bay Packers had traded defensive tackle Colby Wooden as part of a deal to acquire linebacker Zaire Franklin from the Indianapolis Colts.

The All-Pro edge rusher initially posted a stunned reaction – “Oh shi#” – after the trade was reported by Adam Schefter. When a fan pointed out that Wooden was included in the deal, Parsons replied with a dismayed “Nooooo,” signaling disappointment over losing a teammate he had grown close to during his first season in Green Bay.

Parsons arrived in Wisconsin last offseason in a blockbuster trade from the Dallas Cowboys and quickly became the centerpiece of the Packers’ defense.

The star pass rusher delivered another dominant campaign, finishing with:

  • 12.5 sacks
  • 41 tackles
  • 20 tackles for loss

Green Bay is overhauling its defensive roster

Parsons’ debut season, however, ended prematurely after he suffered a torn ACL late in Week 15, sidelining him for the remainder of the year as the Packers pushed toward the playoffs.

Parsons is now progressing through rehabilitation and hopes to return in time to resume his role as the defense’s leader next season.

The trade that sparked his reaction reflects Green Bay’s effort to reshape its defense during the offseason.

Wooden had quietly developed into a dependable contributor along the defensive line in 2025. The 25-year-old started 16 games and recorded 50 tackles, providing steady production against the run and helping stabilize the interior of the Packers’ front.

Franklin’s durability is almost legendary.

In exchange, Green Bay will receive Franklin, a veteran linebacker known for his durability and leadership. The former seventh-round pick has appeared in 84 of a possible 85 games over the past five seasons with Indianapolis.

Franklin’s breakout year came in 2024, when he led the entire NFL with 173 tackles while earning both Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors. Over eight seasons with the Colts, he established himself as one of the franchise’s most respected defensive leaders.

While Parsons’ reaction highlighted the personal side of the move, the Packers appear to be prioritizing experience and depth at linebacker as they prepare for free agency and the upcoming season.
