Oscar De La Hoya opts for “alien type” beauty treatment in his pursuit to look younger

Oscar De La Hoya is no stranger to shocking the public but this time, it has nothing to do with boxing gloves or verbal jabs. The former world champion recently posted a video that has left fans in disbelief, not because of who he fought, but because of how he looks. In the clip, De La Hoya appears completely unrecognizable, his face partially obscured by what looks like a sci-fi mask under an intense blue glow. It’s a far cry from the golden boy of the ring, and fans can’t stop asking: what on Earth is going on?

With an oxygen mask strapped to his face, surrounded by cold lights and shadows. The image is strange, even futuristic, something between a high tech lab and a movie set. It doesn’t take long before his social media followers begin to speculate. In the past, punches shaped his face. Now he’s doing everything he can to ‘win the beauty contest’ among former boxers.

Just when curiosity reaches its peak, Oscar chimes in with a message that only deepens the mystery. “These lasers only making me younger and cuter… sorry fellas,” he jokes, before adding: “Sexy papichulo by next week.” He says a transformation is coming, and he promises to share the before-and-after. But what exactly is he doing to himself?

The Golden Boy’s transformation stirs debate

Before diving into the details, it’s important to remember how far De La Hoya has come not just inside the ring, but far beyond it. Once one of the most feared boxers in the world, he’s gradually traded punches for public appearances and Instagram posts. And while he remains active as a boxing promoter, his recent appearances focused more on beauty than brawls have taken him further and further from the image that once defined him in the sport.

He’s also no stranger to drama. In recent years, De La Hoya has had a rocky and very public falling out with Canelo Álvarez, one of the biggest names he once promoted. Their feud spilled into the media, with sharp words and accusations exchanged on both sides. He’s also clashed with rising star Ryan Garcia, leading to lawsuits and major headlines.

The bizarre video showed him undergoing a CO2 laser facial treatment, followed by time in a hyperbaric chamber. It’s a ‘futuristic’ combo designed to refresh the skin, promote healing, and yes make you look years younger. “It’s freaking crazy how you can turn the clock back inside and out,” he wrote. “Obviously it takes money, but when you have it, why not?”

De La Hoya continues to tease the full transformation and proudly flaunts his beauty treatments. There’s no doubt that times change, and time changes people. He knows how to draw attention, or at the very least, tries to stay in the headlines whatever it takes.
