With the highly anticipated showdown between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford just weeks away, the boxing world is abuzz with predictions and analyses.

Among the latest voices weighing in is rapper Offset, who recently shared his thoughts on the upcoming fight during an appearance on the Full Send Podcast.

When asked about the bout, Offset didn’t hesitate. “Canelo, man,” he stated confidently. He further elaborated, saying, “I like my boy, but Canelo is just a beast.” Offset acknowledged Crawford‘s talents but emphasized Alvarez’s formidable power and experience.

“He hit hard as fu-k,” Offset remarked, highlighting the Mexican champion’s punching ability. He also noted that the fighters who have defeated Canelo are exceptional talents themselves, underscoring the challenges any opponent faces against him.

Canelo vs. Crawford: A clash of titans

The upcoming bout between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford has captured the imagination of boxing fans worldwide.

Canelo, the undisputed super middleweight champion, is set to defend his title against Crawford, a former two-division undisputed champion, in what is being billed as the biggest boxing event of the year.

Canelo enters the ring with an impressive record of 63 wins, 2 losses, and 2 draws, including 39 knockouts.

Standing at 5’7 1/2″ with a reach of 70 1/2 inches, the Mexican powerhouse has dominated the super middleweight division, becoming a two-time undisputed champion in May 2025 after defeating William Scull by unanimous decision.

Despite criticism over the lackluster nature of that fight, Alvarez‘s body shots and ring control reaffirmed his status at the top of the division.

Terence Crawford, 37, boasts an unblemished record of 41 wins and no losses, with 31 of his wins coming by knockout.

Known for his exceptional boxing skills and adaptability, Crawford is making a significant leap by moving up two weight classes to challenge Canelo.

While some experts question whether Crawford can handle the size and power of the naturally bigger Alvarez, others believe his technical prowess and ring IQ could give him an edge.

Expert opinions and betting odds

The fight has garnered mixed opinions from boxing experts. Some, like former boxer Jeff Horn, believe Crawford’s accuracy and defensive skills could allow him to weather an early storm from Canelo and potentially secure a late stoppage.

Horn suggests that if Crawford can tire Alvarez out, he might find openings to land decisive shots.

On the other hand, fighters like Regis Prograis emphasize the challenges Crawford faces due to the size difference, with Crawford working his way towards super-middleweight.

Prograis points out that weight classes exist for a reason and expresses doubt that Crawford can withstand Canelo‘s power. He acknowledges Crawford‘s talent but predicts a tough challenge ahead.
