NFL star quarterback shows incredible batting skills and show why he’s the biggest ‘what if’ in baseball

Kyler Murray has been one of the most exciting quarterbacks to watch in the NFL ever since he got drafted by the Arizona Cardinals with the No. 1 overall pick in 2019.

The former Oklahoma Sooners superstar – who’s seven years into the league – understands that he’s entering his prime at 28-years-old and that means that he needs to deliver for the Cardinals.

That means getting a Vince Lombardi trophy for Arizona, one of 12 NFL teams that have never won a Super Bowl. The Atlanta Falcons, the Buffalo Bills, the Carolina Panthers, the Cincinnati Bengals, the Cleveland Browns, the Detroit Lions, the Houston Texans, the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Los Angeles Chargers, the Minnesota Vikings, and the Tennessee Titans.

Kyler Murray shows incredible batting skills

Kyler Murray was visiting Oklahoma along teammates James Conner, Paris Johnson Jr, Michael Wilson, Will Hernandez, and Andre Baccellia around the University of Oklahoma and did some batting practice in his old stomping grounds. It’s fair to say that the quarterback was hitting some deep balls.

“Just knocking some rust off,” wrote Murray in a video that he posted in social media. “No speculations please,” he added. After all, the Texas native was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the MLB draft, but ultimately chose to pursue a career in the NFL.

“Kyler has made impressive adjustments at the plate. He’s making better contact and no longer is easy prey for breaking balls, doing a better job of recognizing them and not chasing them off the plate. He has the plus-plus speed to create havoc on the bases and the bat speed and strength to produce average power,” his MLB scouting report states.

Kyler Murray is chasing rings

There’s one thing in Kyler Murray‘s mind: “Rings,” the Arizona Cardinals quarterback told the media. When asked about his drive to make the postseason this year, the footballer made it clear that he was working much more day to day and not giving thought to the playoffs. He has never once shied from the idea that the ultimate goal was a championship.

The circumstances around him are different, however. The Cardinals roster is in its best shape since 2021. The defense has been overhauled, the offense building upon itself within the playbook and the personnel. Expectations are higher than they’ve been in a few years.

Murray has talked about being in that position before and being built to deal with it, dating all the way back to his pee wee days when he played above his age to his starring role in Texas high school football and its “cult-type of following.” “My Pops groomed me in the sense of when you play this position, this is what it comes with,” Murray said. “I think every quarterback knows that. It comes with it.”
