New York Yankees gives away Seinfeld-themed bobblehead

One of the most popular shows in the 90s was “Seinfeld”, starring Jerry Seinfeld himself, who, together with his friends George, Kramer and Elaine, had various stories among themselves and most of them took place in New York City, where these characters resided. However, during one season the New York Yankees team was very relevant in the episodes of this show.

It turns out that George Costanza was the assistant to the traveling secretary of the New York Yankees. However, success did not accompany him, but rather the number of hilarious situations with the Bronx Bombers. One of them was the iconic phrase: “I love a good nap. Sometimes it’s the only thing that gets me out of bed in the morning.” – George Costanza. That’s why the New York Yankees’ front office has decided that on August 21 they will give away a George Costanza Booblehead sleeping under his own desk, as remembered in the episode.

How many George Constanza dolls will they give away?

For those who decide to attend the Yankees game that day, only 18,000 George Costanza bobbleheads will be given away, so fans can go home with a fantastic Seinfeld-themed gift. The series will not be against just any MLB opponent, as the Yankees have decided that this giveaway will be in the series against the Boston Red Sox on August 21. Between the rivalry and this giveaway, it should be one of the most well-attended games of the season.

The Seinfeld episode to provide the Booblehead against Boston Red Sox

The iconic image of George sleeping under his own desk comes from the 1997 episode “The Nap”, in which George manages to enlarge the space under his desk so he can sleep while at work (at the time he was working for the Yankees). He also gets extra compartments to store an alarm clock, magazines and candy bars. His plan to sleep on the job was going full steam ahead until Yankees owner George Steinbrenner walked into his office and waited for him, preventing him from getting up and forcing him to stay under the desk until he could devise a plan to get Steinbrenner out of the office.

Finally, Steinbrenner found George and the large desk was destroyed. It is one of the most iconic episodes of the later seasons of the series, one of the most successful in television history.
