For months, speculation has centered on Rhode Island’s Watch Hill as the potential wedding site, given its scenic appeal and Swift’s mansion, High Watch, perched above the ocean, offering privacy and breathtaking views.
The area’s charm, ocean views, and small-town feel made it an appealing candidate for a high-profile wedding, though locals point out that Watch Hill is quieter than nearby Newport and offers limited hotel accommodations.
But the wedding planner, Kate Murtaugh, told NBC News Boston that while the location seems like a “natural” fit, there has been “no paperwork, no permits, no police preparations,” meaning a star-studded event is not happening there anytime soon.
Additionally, Murtaugh noted that the region’s hotels are small and seasonal tourist traffic complicates logistics, while major security requirements for a celebrity wedding would demand significant coordination.
As a result, despite months of speculation, Watch Hill appears unlikely to host the Swift-Kelce wedding, leaving fans to wonder where the couple will officially tie the knot.
The wedding comes as Kelce weighs whether he’ll return to the Kansas City Chiefs for the 2026-27 NFL season, with fans and analysts alike debating the decision and its impact on his life outside football.
NFL insider Tom Pelissero recently shared his perspective on The Rich Eisen Show, noting that he believes Kelce will return to the Chiefs while balancing his personal life
“They have already been in contract talks,” Pelissero said. “Obviously, Travis has a lot going on in his life outside of football and decisions to make.”

Meanwhile the Chiefs’ Chris Jones pushed back against former NFL executive Mike Tannenbaum, who suggested Kansas City should move on from Kelce after a slightly down 2025 season.
Kelce led the team with 851 receiving yards, 78 receptions, and five touchdowns, earning his eleventh Pro Bowl selection, tying Jason Witten for second-most appearances by a tight end, behind Tony Gonzalez.
“Travis Kelce is a first ballot Hall of Famer,” Tannenbaum told SportsCenter. “But when you watch him and make an honest and sober evaluation of his 2025 performance, clearly his best days are behind him.”
But Jones responded emphatically on social media, posting “Shut up,” followed by a shush emoji, suggesting the reporter doesn’t know too much about what’s going n at the Arrowhead Stadium.
