The start of the 2025 Major League Baseball season is just around the corner, and the reigning champions, the Los Angeles Dodgers, will be one of the protagonists in a very special way.
Prior to the start of the 2024 season, the Angels acquired the services of Japanese baseball player Shohei Ohtani, who was instrumental in the team’s success in winning the World Series.
Now, the Dodgers, facing the Chicago Cubs, kick off the regular season, but in a place that is sure to be quite a spectacle with the presence of Ohtani, as both teams open the season in the Tokyo Series, in the Japanese capital.
In addition to Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Rori Sasaki are also on the Dodgers’ roster, which will increase the excitement for local fans to see their compatriots in the uniform of the champions in Major League Baseball.
But the Cubs do not detract from their presence, as the Japanese Shota Imanaga and Seiya Suzuki are also on the roster.
As if that were not enough, the two MLB teams will have two exhibition games beforehand, as on Friday, March 14, the Cubs will face the Yomiuri Giants starting at 11:00 ET, and on Saturday, March 15, they will play against the Hanshin Tigers.
The Dodgers will play Yomiuri on Saturday, and hours later against Hanshin.

The first of the two games will take place on Tuesday, March 18 and will kick off at 6:10 a.m. ET, 3:10 a.m. PT.
The second game will be a day later on Wednesday, October 19 with the same start times of 6:10 a.m. ET and 3:10 p.m. PT.
