Mike Tyson had no qualms about praising Irish fighters, admitting that their courage and determination left an indelible mark on him.

Speaking to iFL TV, ‘Iron‘ had no problem confessing which Irish fighters inspired him during his childhood.

“You know how many great Irish boxers there are. Johnny Kilbane is one of my favourites. Let’s see, I like Mike McTigue, Jack Dempsey is my favorite Irish boxer,” said Tyson, leaving out the great Conor McGregor.

Johnny Kilbane, the son of immigrants from Achill, shone as a featherweight champion. Mike McTigue, of Irish descent, triumphed in the light heavyweight division during the war in Ireland. Jack Dempsey, with Irish roots, dominated as heavyweight champion (1919-1926) and became a boxing icon in the 1920s, fighters who have nothing to envy Conor McGregor.

Although, to be precise, Conor had only one boxing match, which was an exhibition against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2017. But as a fighter, there is no doubt about The Notorious’ greatness.

While Conor McGregor stands out as Ireland‘s current figurehead in mixed martial arts, Mike Tyson praises Johnny Kilbane,Mike McTigue and Jack Dempsey as legendary Irish boxing champions.

Mike Tyson joins the most viral trend of the year

“Iron” Mike is not messing around with the most viral question of the year so far: Could 100 men defeat a gorilla in a fight?Tyson, known for his bravery, emphatically stated that if those men were him in his prime, the gorilla would be in serious trouble.

“The gorilla is in serious trouble. He’s in serious trouble,” he said in an interview with The Ring.

The boxing legend admitted that he once longed to fight a gorilla and offered $10,000 to make it happen, revealing his most intrepid and peculiar nature.

“When we got to the gorilla cage, there was a huge silverback gorilla intimidating the others. They were very powerful, but their eyes were like those of an innocent baby,” Tyson said.

Unfortunately, the zoo keeper declined his offer, leaving him disappointed, but true to form, he seems ready to take on those gorillas, and if anyone could do it, it was Mike Tyson in his prime.
