Dominican Juan Soto signed the largest contract in sports history with the New York Mets, worth $765 million over 15 years that could reach $805 million due to clauses

The outfielder said in an interview that the Toronto Blue Jays, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees, New York Mets and Boston Red Sox competed for his signature and revealed that some franchises offered him more money than the Mets, although he did not specify which ones because only a preview of the interview with Abriendo El Podcast was published

The New York Yankees, the team the outfielder played for last season, reportedly offered Soto a 16-year, $760 million contract. After signing with the Mets, Soto explained that he made the decision to sign with the other New York team because of “what they have done in the last two years showing all the ability to keep winning, to keep growing a team, to try to grow a dynasty is one of the most important things. What you were seeing from the other side was incredible”.
