Shortly after news emerged that the Las Vegas Raiders had agreed to trade star edge rusher Maxx Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens, Crosby posted a lengthy video message directed to both fan bases.
The trade will not become official until the start of the new league year on Wednesday, March 11, but the longtime Raiders standout chose not to wait before speaking directly to supporters of his former team and those welcoming him to Baltimore.
Crosby’s message struck a reflective tone as he looked back on seven seasons with the franchise that drafted him in 2019. During that stretch, he developed from a fourth-round pick into one of the NFL’s most feared pass rushers and a central figure in the Raiders’ defense.
In the video, Crosby expressed deep appreciation for the organization and its fans, even as he acknowledged the frustration that surrounded the team’s lack of sustained success during his tenure.
“I feel like I let y’all down.”
The comment reflected Crosby’s own expectations as much as anything else. Despite individual dominance, the Raiders reached the playoffs only once during his seven seasons with the club. Still, his impact on the field was undeniable. Crosby produced 69.5 career sacks with Las Vegas and twice earned second-team All-Pro honors while making five Pro Bowl appearances.
Crosby also emphasized that the move did not erase his bond with the franchise.
He said he deliberately stayed quiet in recent months while speculation about his future swirled, explaining that he has “zero ill will” toward the team and still considers himself a “Raider for life.”
In fact, Crosby added that he intends to retire as a Raider someday, even though his next chapter will begin in Baltimore.

The Ravens are acquiring one of the league’s premier edge defenders in a blockbuster deal that reportedly sends multiple first-round picks to Las Vegas. The move addresses a major need for Baltimore after a 2025 season in which the team struggled to generate consistent pressure and finished near the bottom of the league in sacks.
Crosby made it clear that he views the move as an opportunity to compete for the championship that eluded him during his time with the Raiders.
He said he plans to “give everything in my heart and soul” to help the Ravens win a Super Bowl.
“I’m so excited,” Crosby said in the video, explaining that he has already spoken with leaders within the organization and is eager to get to work once the trade becomes official.
For Baltimore, the addition of Crosby instantly reshapes the defensive front and raises expectations in a conference that remains loaded with contenders. Pairing his relentless motor with the Ravens’ defensive culture could make him a central piece of a unit looking to rebound in 2026.
