Manny Pacquiao is not impressed by LeBron James and takes him out of an uncomfortable debate

Manny Pacquiao may not be an expert on basketball, but he is a passionate fan with enough authority to talk about success and greatness in sports. That is why his opinion is of enormous relevance in the debate about who is the best basketball player in history. The three main candidates are, of course, Michael Jordan, LeBron James and Kobe Bryant.

However, for the boxer, there is no doubt, “the best is Michael Jordan, forever” were his words. For Pacquiao there is no debate, although LeBron James’ career has been spectacular, the way he plays and the impact of Michael Jordan on basketball is superlative.

How many titles does Michael Jordan have?

Despite retiring more than 20 years ago, his legacy is still very much alive today. Jordan won six NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls, as well as five regular season MVP awards and two Olympic gold medals with the United States team, but his achievements go beyond trophies, as his style of play is what truly made him a legend, which is why top sports stars of the caliber of Manny Pacquiao consider him, without a doubt, the best.

Manny Pacquiao record

The Filipino boxer boasts an impressive record of 62-8-2 with 39 KOs, and even at the age of 46 he still has the desire to compete and is even considering a bout against Mario Barrios (29-2-1) for the World Boxing Council (WBC) welterweight world title.

Pacquiao belongs to a select group of world champion boxers over 40 years old, but he refuses to “hang up his gloves” and when asked why he would return to the ring, the boxer replied bluntly and briefly: “Because boxing is my passion”. He says that during the four years he was away from the ring he thought of nothing but boxing, adding that the reason for his return to the ring is not for financial reasons, nor even for a search for glory, but the simple fact of continuing to do what he does best and what he is most passionate about.
