I can’t say what will happen, but first we have to win this fight,” he added, showing his focused and patient mentality.
This approach reflects the reality facing Pacquiao, a boxing veteran aware that his glory days are not the same, but who maintains the determination to compete at the highest level. His return generates excitement, but also a debate about the suitability of facing high-level young prospects. In this regard, the Filipino has been clear: “Gervonta Davis is a good fighter. If he goes up to 147 pounds, maybe we can fight at 145. I’m not worried,” he said in previous interviews, leaving the door open for a possible fight if the conditions are right.
Is a clash between Pacquiao and the new generations viable?
Despite Pacquiao’s willingness to continue facing challenges, experts and fans question whether a fight with figures such as Davis or Ryan Garcia would be wise or necessary. With an age difference of more than a decade and uncertainty about his performance after years of inactivity, the viability of such matchups is debatable.
