ESPN announced that Madelyn Burke will join the network as a SportsCenter anchor, marking a significant leap in her broadcasting career covering the New York Giants after years spent covering teams and producing digital sports content.

She is scheduled to begin her new role in April, becoming part of the rotating lineup of anchors for the network’s flagship highlight and news program.

Burke announced that she will officially begin her new role in April, though her exact anchoring schedule is still being finalized. In sharing the news, she emphasized just how meaningful the opportunity is.

She described joining SportsCenter as a “full-circle moment,” reflecting on her early days working behind the scenes. Nearly two decades ago, Burke worked as a production assistant for ESPN, contributing to major broadcasts like Monday Night Football and the NBA Finals.

Now, she returns to the network in a far more prominent role – one she grew up dreaming about.

Her journey from production assistant to on-air anchor highlights years of persistence in a competitive industry, as well as her steady rise through multiple media platforms.

Leaving behind a decade with the Giants

Burke‘s departure also marks the end of a long and successful run covering the Giants. Over 10 seasons, she became a familiar face for fans through her work with outlets like MSG Network and Giants.com.

During that time, she served as a sideline reporter for WFAN broadcasts and hosted several digital and postgame shows, including Giants Postgame Live. Her coverage helped document a full era of the franchise, giving her a deep connection with both the team and its fan base.

In her farewell message, Burke reflected on the relationships and experiences she built over the years, calling her time with the organization both memorable and meaningful.

Before and during her time covering the Giants, Burke developed a diverse resume across multiple sports and networks. She covered college football and the NBA, including time on the Los Angeles Clippers beat, and contributed to platforms such as Sports Illustrated, Bleacher Report, and Amazon.

She also hosted the nationally televised college football program Running with the PAC on FOX, further expanding her on-air presence.

A graduate of Arizona State University with a journalism degree, Burke has steadily built her career by taking on a wide range of roles, from behind-the-scenes production work to high-visibility reporting and hosting gigs.

Burke‘s addition to ESPN brings in an experienced reporter with strong storytelling skills and deep NFL knowledge. Her familiarity with team dynamics, player coverage, and live reporting should translate well to the fast-paced format of SportsCenter.

For viewers, it also signals a fresh face joining one of the most iconic programs in sports media, a show that has long been a cornerstone of ESPN‘s identity.

As Burke prepares to relocate to Bristol and start her new role, the focus will shift to how she establishes herself on one of the biggest platforms in sports broadcasting. Given her experience and steady rise through the industry, she appears well-positioned to make the transition successfully.

For Burke, the move represents both an ending and a beginning, closing the chapter on a decade with the Giants while stepping into the national spotlight she has been working toward for years.
