LeBron James arrived in the NBA at a very young age, and at that time, no one could have fully imagined that he would become the sport’s biggest star years later. While there were clear signs that his talent was unique, few could have predicted the remarkable level he would sustain for 23 years in the league.

With the farewell of His Airness, Michael Jordan, basketball entered a transitional period that was carried by Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal. After their era, LeBron James emerged and, through his performances on the court, made it clear that the throne now belonged to him.

It is no coincidence that he became the undisputed “King.” His talent and quality, along with his constant presence on the court, even now somewhat limited by injuries, continue to define his reign.

Given his longevity, it was expected that many long-standing records would eventually fall. And there may still be more to come.

LeBron James’ new record

In NBA history, LeBron has now become the player with the most games played in league history. But that is not the only milestone he has achieved.

He is also the all-time leading scorer, which has helped him become the player with the most All-Star Team selections. The list of accomplishments continues to grow, forming an extraordinary résumé for the Los AngelesLakers star.

In the most recent game against the Orlando Magic, simply stepping onto the court allowed James to break another record. It marked the 1,612th appearance of his career.

With that milestone, he surpassed the tie he held with Boston Celtics legend Robert Parish. When adding his 292 playoff games, the total rises to 1,904 appearances.

And to celebrate, there was no better way than with a 105-104 victory over their opponent, sealed by a last-minute three-point shot from Luka Kennard.

  • 12 points
  • 5-13 shooting
  • 6 rebounds
  • 4 assists
  • 3 steals

That is how LeBron finished his numbers this past Saturday, March 21, 2026, against the Orlando Magic. With the win, the Lakers reached nine consecutive victories at a moment when Luka Doncic could face a suspension after reaching 16 technical fouls on the season.

  • LeBron James’ NBA records
  • Points leader with 43,229
  • Field goals 15,884
  • All-Star selections 22
  • All-NBA selections 13 First Team and 21 total
  • Seasons played 23
  • Playoff games 292
  • Turnovers 5,620

Is there anything left to accomplish? Yes, winning the 2025-26 championship and retiring with the highest honors, further cementing a legacy that has already redefined greatness in professional basketball and set a standard that may stand unmatched for generations to come.
