LeBron, Messi & Ohtani join forces with Dr. Dre and it’s a vibe

LeBron James is no stranger to making moves off the court. The four-time NBA champion and business mogul has built an empire beyond basketball, with one of his best investments being his early involvement with Beats by Dre. Since the brand’s rise to global dominance, James has remained a key ambassador, and now he’s back with another high-profile collaboration-this time, he’s not alone.

In its latest campaign, Beats by Dre brought together three of the biggest names in sports: James, soccer superstar Lionel Messi, and two-way baseball sensation Shohei Ohtani. The new ad, promoting the Powerbeats Pro 2, doesn’t just showcase the product-it tells a story. Narrated by hip-hop legend RZA, the commercial follows each athlete in their element, training with intensity and focus while their music fuels them.

James opens the ad, working on his shot while RZA’s voice sets the tone. Then, the scene shifts to Messi on the pitch, moving with precision, followed by Ohtani honing his craft at the plate. The visuals are sleek, the energy is high, and the message is clear: greatness is built through discipline, and the right soundtrack helps get you there.

Why this ad hits different: Music, motivation, and next-level tech

For James, who’s been a longtime fan of the Powerbeats line, the campaign was a perfect fit. “Music has always been a key motivator in my training, and these earphones take an already iconic product to the next level,” he shared in a statement. Messi, ever the competitor, spoke to the deeper connection between elite athletes. “Even though we come from different sports, what connects us is our shared passion to perform at the highest level,” he said. Meanwhile, Ohtani, making his Beats campaign debut, was thrilled to be included. “Tapping into your heart is important whether you’re an athlete on the biggest stage or just getting started,” he added.

But the campaign isn’t just about star power-it’s also about innovation. The Powerbeats Pro 2 introduces new features, including heart rate monitoring, catering to athletes who rely on music to elevate their workouts. By enlisting three global sports icons, Beats by Dre not only underscores its commitment to performance but also highlights how music is a universal motivator, no matter the sport.

With James, Messi, and Ohtani in the mix, the ad is already generating buzz-and let’s be real, when you bring together three GOATs, people are going to watch.
