LeBron James unbelievable stat that put the Lakers superstar on sport Mount Rushmore

LeBron James has spent more than two decades redefining what longevity looks like in professional basketball, and his latest milestone has strengthened the argument that he belongs firmly on the sport’s Mount Rushmore.

The Los Angeles Lakers superstar recently surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to claim the NBA‘s all-time record for career field goals made, another landmark achievement in a career already filled with historic numbers.

The accomplishment is significant not just because it adds another record to James‘ résumé, but because of what it represents. No player in National Basketball Association history has combined elite production with durability for as long as James has.

Performing like he’s barely starting

Now in his 23rd NBA season, the 41-year-old continues to perform at a level that would be impressive even for players a decade younger. James is averaging 21.6 points, 5.7 rebounds and seven assists per game, with his assist total ranking 10th in the league.

His consistency also extended to the All-Star stage once again. Earlier this season, James earned his 22nd consecutive selection to the NBA All-Star Game, extending his own league record and reinforcing his place among the most durable stars the sport has ever seen.

James‘ career has spanned multiple eras of basketball. He entered the league in the early 2000s when physical interior play and midrange scoring were more common. He dominated through the pace-and-space transformation of the 2010s, and he remains productive today as the modern game emphasizes three-point shooting and positional versatility.

A production that has remained steady

While the style of play has evolved dramatically around him, James‘ production has remained remarkably steady. That ability to adapt has helped him collect milestone after milestone. Last season, he became just the second player in NBA history to appear in 22 seasons, joining Vince Carter in reaching that level of longevity.

During that same campaign, James also joined Abdul-Jabbar as the only players ever to reach 15,000 career field goals. The milestone basket came on a driving runner off the glass in a game against the Utah Jazz. Now, by surpassing Abdul-Jabbar on the all-time list, James has taken sole possession of yet another historic category.

The achievement strengthens the already powerful case that James belongs among the greatest players the sport has ever seen. Conversations about basketball’s Mount Rushmore frequently include names like Michael Jordan, Bill Russell and Magic Johnson. With every new milestone, James makes it harder to imagine that conversation without him. For James, however, the pursuit of history is far from over.
