LeBron James could have a final dance with the Cleveland Cavaliers amid instability with the Lakers

As the NBA trade deadline approaches, a rumor has surfaced suggesting that the “King” could seek a final dance with the team from his hometown, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and close his career grandly.

This comes according to JR Smith, who has speculated about the possibility. The Cavaliers have reshaped their lineup to become more competitive, adding new pieces that have strengthened the franchise.

James Harden, arriving from the Los Angeles Clippers, along with Dennis Schroder and Keon Ellis from the Sacramento Kings, could provide the boost the team needs, making Cleveland an attractive option for LeBron.

Smith was part of the team that captured the 2016 championship, so he knows James well. That familiarity led him to suggest that the superstar might finish his NBA career in Cleveland. He made those comments during the latest episode of FanDuel’s Run It Back.

I mean this is speculation. I don’t know. This is all speculation, but we still got our group chat and all that. We still talk, but honestly, this is my opinion, but I think he goes back to Cleveland next year.”…”Rides it out. Rides into the sunset. I don’t think this is his last year. I think he doesn’t have to keep playing, but I still think he has a lot left in the tank to where he’s very impactful. Especially to a team like Cleveland with the pieces they already have.

Smith said.

Speculation continues about LeBron James’ future

There is nothing certain about LeBron James’ immediate future. Will this be his final NBA season, or will there be more to come? For now, everything remains speculation, as the player himself has not offered a clear answer.

Despite being 41 years old, LeBron’s numbers on NBA courts remain impressive.

  • 23rd season
  • 22.0 points per game
  • 6.6 assists
  • 5.7 rebounds
  • 1.2 steals
  • 50.9% field-goal percentage
  • 32.2% three-point shooting
  • 32 games played
  • 33 minutes per game

However, it is also worth remembering that his performance, specifically on defense, has raised concerns. Experts say he does very little, very little, to help the team in that department.

Others argue that he has become slow defensively and that it has turned into a major weakness for the Lakers, especially since Luka Doncic also does not contribute much on that end.

Meanwhile, his potential destination, the Cavaliers, appears to be operating on a different level following their recent additions. They currently sit in fourth place in the Eastern Conference and look strong enough to be taken seriously as title contenders.

At the moment, there seems to be no real intention for LeBron to leave Los Angeles, as Smith’s suggestion appears more like a hopeful scenario than something concrete that could actually materialize.
