Kylie Kelce is setting the record straight on how she first met Taylor Swift and dispelling rumors that she initially avoided the pop superstar, despite the billionaire dating her brother-in-law, Travis Kelce.
While speculation swirled about how the family learned of the relationship, Kylie revealed that the news wasn’t exactly a formal announcement and the family hadn’t been given a heads-up about the romance.
The 32-year-old Kylie opened up about the moment she discovered the Kansas City Chiefs‘ Kelce, was dating Swift; and intriguingly revealed that whilst she and her husband, Jason, found out before the public did, there was no grand announcement.
“We were not [told],” Kylie admitted to the Call Her Daddy podcast. “I will say, we knew before everyone else knew, but it was not, like… it did not hit the group chat. Jase and I found out together.”
How did Kylie first meet Swift?
Despite their knowledge of the budding relationship, the couple kept things quiet until Swift’s first public appearance at a Kansas City Chiefs game on September 24, 2023, when the team played the Chicago Bears.
But despite knowing for months, Kylie only had her first encounter with Swift during the Chiefs’ playoff game against the Buffalo Bills in January 2024 as the Cruel Summer singer and Travis kept their relationship strictly priate.
“Yes people are deeply disturbed by this,” Kylie added of their first meeting. “There was, like, all this stuff leading up to it [the meeting] about, ‘Well, why haven’t they met, they’re avoiding each other.’
“I’m not avoiding anyone.”
Following the game, photos of Kylie posing with Swift, model Cara Delevingne, and fellow Chiefs WAG Brittany Mahomes surfaced online, seemingly putting an end to any rumors of tension between her and the pop icon.
Recently, the Eras Tour star welcomed the Kelces to her Nashville home to meet her own extended family for Thanksgiving dinner proving that now all the awkwardness of the relatively young relationship has faded away.
