Bad news for Kansas City fans. That’s right, a player has been ruled out, and it will undoubtedly be a major blow for this weekend’s game against the Denver Broncos. There’s been a lot of talk about this matchup, as it’s a clash of very different teams: while Patrick Mahomes’ offensive magic can be devastating, the Broncos’ defense has been virtually impenetrable.
The Kansas City Chiefs are gearing up for a crucial game against the Denver Broncos on Sunday. Kansas City fell to 5-4 after their Week 9 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Now, the Chiefs face an important divisional matchup after their bye week. Although Mahomes and company have improved after a rough start to the season, Andy Reid’s offense could face another challenge in Week 11.
Xavier Worthy out for Chiefs with injury
Xavier Worthy has been added to the Week 11 injured list for the crucial matchup against the Broncos. The wide receiver was placed on injured reserve Thursday, according to Ian Rapoport. The second-year player had limited participation in practice due to an ankle injury. Worthy burst onto the scene in 2024, adding a new dimension to the Chiefs’ passing attack.
However, the second-year receiver has suffered several injuries this season. Worthy dislocated his shoulder in a collision with Travis Kelce in Week 1. The injury sidelined him for the next two games. He energized the Chiefs upon his return in Week 4, helping his team defeat the Baltimore Ravens. He caught five passes for 83 yards in the 37-20 victory.
Andy Reid unsure if Josh Simmons will start against Broncos
It’s officially been a month since rookie left tackle Josh Simmons took a break from football to attend to a personal matter, and although he’s back in Kansas City practicing with the team, Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is still refusing to say whether Simmons will return to his starting position this Sunday against the Denver Broncos.
“Yeah, we’ll see,” Reid told reporters before practice last Wednesday, November 12. “I haven’t even had him practice yet, so let’s see how he fits in and what he can do, how he carries himself on the field… and then we’ll see what happens,” the Kansas City Chiefs head coach concluded.
