Justin Tucker shrugs off NFL suspension amid shocking allegations-could return sooner than you think

In the NFL, accountability often seems optional. Time and again, players accused of serious misconduct return to the field with little delay. The latest case involves Justin Tucker, the embattled kicker who recently received a significant suspension-yet may return to action sooner than expected.

Tucker, considered the most accurate kicker in NFL history, has had a turbulent year. He is currently the subject of a class-action lawsuit filed by six massage therapists alleging sexual misconduct between 2012 and 2016. The lawsuit includes disturbing allegations surrounding Tucker’s behavior during that period.

While the legal battle continues, the NFL conducted its own investigation, ultimately handing Tucker a 10-game suspension with no right to appeal. The punishment will span the upcoming season, but reports suggest several teams could come calling before the ban is even lifted.

Tucker set for December comeback

On a recent episode of The Rich Eisen Show, NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero shared an explosive update:

“He [Tucker] accepted the suspension right now to start the clock and to give himself the opportunity that, come November and December… we all know, Rich, there are not enough good kickers in the NFL.”

Pelissero explained that if a contender’s kicker falters late in the season, the former Baltimore Ravens kicker could be a tempting solution.

“I wouldn’t be surprised at all if somebody, if they’re in a bind, is sitting there and going, ‘All right, let’s bring in the most accurate field goal kicker of all time,'” he said.

NFL teams, Pelissero noted, often weigh public backlash against postseason performance-and if a player’s reputation is somewhat salvageable, talent usually wins out.

Tucker denies allegations, but avoids fight

According to Pelissero, one term of Tucker’s agreement with the NFL is that he will not pursue any appeals. The decision appears strategic-by staying quiet, Tucker positions himself for a low-profile return once the suspension expires and public attention fades.

Tucker has continued to deny all allegations. But by not challenging the punishment, he also avoids prolonging the investigation or prompting the release of additional damaging evidence that could sabotage any chance of a comeback.

The arrangement allows the NFL to appear tough on misconduct while giving Tucker a pathway to resume his career-potentially with minimal long-term consequences.
