Juan Soto stopped being a lie and the Mets are already a team to be feared in Major League Baseball

The big signings made by the New York Mets are beginning to generate the first signs of optimism among the sports media. The Mets’ fans are already savoring the Fall Classic games, even though we are still in summer.

However, the Mets are enjoying their best version of the 2025 MLB season as they boast the best record in the entire circuit: 44 wins and just 24 losses, a favorable mark compared to the reigning champions, the Los Angeles Dodgers (41-27).

The best news for New York Mets fans is that their star player, Juan Soto, has taken up the bat with force and is living up to expectations after his high-profile signing.

The Dominican, who arrived with much fanfare in free agency, had a slow start, but in recent weeks he has improved his numbers impressively. After 67 games played, he has a batting average of .252, an on-base percentage of .387 in combination with 13 home runs and 35 RBIs.

Juan Soto’s awakening excites New York Mets fans

The media attention surrounding his controversial move from the Yankees to the Mets was likely the cause of his poor performance. But with patience, the Mets bet on giving their new slugger time and are now reaping the rewards. The contact with the ball looks smoother, he is seeing the development of the games better and he no longer looks pressured. In the midst of a lineup that mixes power and contact, Soto is once again the heart of the lineup. And with that, New York looks like a true contender, not only in the National League, but also in the World Series.

Meanwhile, the pitching staff has also done its part. The rotation has been steady, the bullpen responds in key moments and the manager has been able to move the pieces without burning them. It is a team that is hungry, but also experienced. Winning has become a habit at Citi Field and that, in a schedule as long as Major League Baseball’s, makes all the difference.

The New York Mets will have very exciting games

The outlook for the New York Mets looks encouraging. Their hitters are on fire, they have the best record in MLB and they have games coming up that will allow them to dream of staying as the No. 1 team in the league. First, they will host the Tampa Bay Rays in the Big Apple and then they will have a double tour in Atlanta and then in Philadelphia. The season is still long, but the pace they are setting is no coincidence, but rather the result of pre-season planning.
