When three future superstars like Juan Soto, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Fernando Tatis Jr. share the same field as teenagers, the memories inevitably become legendary.

Soto recalled that moment in an anecdote that has already gone viral, remembering the day Vladdy left everyone stunned with such tremendous power that he and Tatis could only admire his performance in the tryout.

Juan Soto tells the story of how he met Vladimir Guerrero

While the New York Mets focus on a key offseason for 2025, Juan Soto found himself at the center of the conversation thanks to an anecdote that went viral. In a clip released by MLB on X, the Dominican outfielder recalled a tryout that marked three young talents who years later would be part of baseball’s elite.

The organization published:

“Juan Soto, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Fernando Tatis Jr. attended the same tryout as teenagers! Who do you think impressed the most?“

We were picking up balls, and he was hitting them 150 meters all over the field. We didn’t even need to pick them up. We just went out on the field. And we were blown away. He put on a show for us. We were impressed. We hit two home runs, and then they told us, ‘Okay, the tryout is over. Let’s go talk to Vladdy!'”SotoTatis Jr.Vladdy

Three paths united since 2015

  • Vladimir Guerrero Jr signed with the Blue Jays
  • Tatis Jr signed with the Chicago White Sox
  • Juan Soto signed with the Washington Nationals

What was then a simple tryout between teenagers became a meeting that would bring together three of the most important baseball players of the moment.

Years later, it is almost ironic that

Juan Soto

, now a star with the

Mets

and one of the most respected voices in the league, tells the story of how he was overshadowed by Vladimir Guerrero in his youth.
