Josh Allen honors the Cowboys ahead of his impressive performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars

There’s no doubt that the Buffalo Bills have taken the first step toward their most important goal of the season: reaching the Super Bowl. From the start, it was clear that anything short of competing for the Vince Lombardi Trophy would be considered a failure, especially as the window of opportunity for Josh Allen and company slowly begins to close.

The Bills won a dramatic 2724 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, not only advancing to the divisional round but also securing their first playoff victory on the road since 1993, the year they reached the NFL’s biggest game. It was a back-and-forth matchup, but Josh Allen donned his Superman cape once again to claim this hard-fought victory.

The pressure on Allen is even higher, as neither Patrick Mahomes nor Joe Burrow are in these AFC playoffs-players who have beaten him in previous postseason encounters, especially Mahomes, who is 40 against him in January. Adding to the challenge, two-time MVP Lamar Jackson is also absent, leaving Allen with no choice but to shine in these playoffs.

Josh Allen arrived at the stadium wearing a Wyoming Cowboys cap

Allen arrived at the stadium wearing a Wyoming Cowboys cap, honoring the university where he had a successful NCAA career, which led to him being the Bills’ first-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. He came into the game fully focused, knowing there was no margin for error-a mindset that will carry into the next matchups.

In his final college season (2017) with the Wyoming Cowboys, Allen established himself as one of the nation’s most promising quarterbacks. He threw for 3,300 yards and 28 touchdowns, while also adding 8 rushing touchdowns, showcasing his combination of a strong arm and mobility.

After honoring his alma mater, Allen delivered a performance befitting an NFL MVP. He completed 28 of 35 passes for 273 yards and one touchdown, along with 2 rushing touchdowns, including the game-winning score with just over a minute left.

Now, Josh Allen continues to chase the dream of reaching the Super Bowl, with the divisional round as the next goal. If the New England Patriots beat the Chargers, the Bills would visit the Denver Broncos; if the Chargers win, Buffalo would face the winner of the Steelers vs. Texans game on Monday Night Football.
