Nick Bosa‘s mother has an interesting request for the San Francisco 49ers‘ front office this NFL offseason as she calls for them to sign one key player from the Los Angeles Chargers to make her dream come true, by picking up her son.
Joey is currently in southern California where he works as a linebacker at the So-Fi Stadium for the AFC West side. He is a five-time Pro Bowl nominee as well as the 2016 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, with a total of 343 tackles and 72 sacks.
Whilst Nick is currently at the Levi’s Stadium in the Bay Area in the NFC West, and is also a DROTY as well as the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2022. He also shares five Pro Bowl nominations with impressive statistics to his name such as 261 tackles and 62.5 sacks.
Yet despite their Pro Bowl credentials and impressive resumes, their mother finds herself frustrated that she’s never seen them strap on the same jersey because they play for difference franchises in difference conferences. Now Cheryl is on a mission to change that.
Reports from Jason La Canfora and The Washington Post suggests the Chargers are ready to end their time with Joey and Cheryl, who works as a luxury real estate advisor, wasted no time jumping aboard the hype train by sharing an edited photo of both her sons in 49ers uniforms via Instagram.
Could the 49ers sign Joey Bosa?
Joey has proved his faithfulness to the Chargers throughout his time with the organization, sticking with them through their relocation from San Diego to Los Angeles but now the 29-year-old’s time in blue, white and yellow could be coming to an end.
His appearances for the team have waned in recent years, only turning out 28 times for 18 starts in the past three campaigns, yet he still made 52 tackles through that run and14 sacks too. As far as his talent goes, he still has something to give.
Additionally, he will become a free agent this summer meaning that the 49ers can make him an offer without being committed to any of the five-year $135m deal he had in LA with what seems likely to be his soon-to-be-former team. So he could be an option.
However, the 49ers have an expensive roster and with only $41.2m available in salary cap space and problems on the offense thanks to injuries to Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk throughout 2024/25, they might look to an offensive player before their defensive line.
