For Jerry Jones, finishing as the worst defense of 2025 was a very hard blow. That is why, during this offseason, he has been extremely active in searching for the best pieces to pull his team out of the deep hole it fell into.
It is worth recalling the entire disaster surrounding the failed Maxx Crosby transaction with the Baltimore Ravens due to a knee issue that was discovered. In fact, he had recently undergone surgery and was still in the recovery process.
He later returned to the Raiders, where he assured that he was ready to continue dominating opposing quarterbacks with his tremendous power. However, it now appears that this may not happen with the silver and black.
New rumors have emerged indicating that the Cowboys have renewed their pursuit of the defensive star and have presented offers that seem difficult for the Las Vegas front office to ignore.
Dallas’s offer to acquire Maxx Crosby
Free agency remains in full swing, and at The Star, they continue to view another push for Maxx Crosby as a strong possibility. It is said that Dallas has presented three different proposals, according to ESPN’s Ryan McFadden.
Initial offers centered on Dallas’ second first-round pick at No. 20, and defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa.”…”The Cowboys then offered their top first-rounder at No. 12 and a third-round pick. Ultimately, the Cowboys moved to No. 12 and their second-round pick, but the last two offers, sources said, did not include Odighizuwa, who was traded to the San Francisco 49ers for a third-round selection.
McFadden detailed Dallas’ pursuit of Crosby.
It is important to remember that earlier this month, the Cowboys lost out in their pursuit of the player to the Baltimore Ravens. Now that the Ravens have returned him, Dallas appears ready to go all-in for his services.
After the entire saga between the Raiders and the Ravens involving the defensive standout, it was believed that no other team would continue to pursue him. However, Jerry Jones made comments on March 12 that suggested otherwise.
We’re pretty far down the road relative to what our plans are.”… “So while I don’t anticipate it, I don’t want to rule anything out.
Jones said when asked about pursuing Crosby, per the Associated Press.
According to McFadden, the Raiders continue to maintain a very high asking price for their player, despite everything that happened with the Ravens earlier this month.
Perhaps a deal involving Crosby will not materialize in 2026 with a move to Dallas, but it remains possible that in the following season, the transaction that Jerry Jones and company so strongly desire could finally come to fruition.
