Jaron Ennis vs Eimantas Stanionis purse: How much money will the winner make?

This weekend, the historic Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City will be the scene of one of the most important welterweight fights of the year. Jaron “Boots” Ennis and Eimantas Stanionis will face each other in a unification bout that puts the IBF, WBA and The Ring titles on the line. The clash promises not only action at the highest level, but also a significant financial reward for both pugilists.

Both fighters arrive undefeated and with elite credentials, which translates into a seven-figure purse for each. Ennis, who is the heavy favorite in the betting, has already had significant paydays in the past: he received more than $3 million for his victory over David Avanesyan and surpassed $2 million in his defense against Karen Chukhadzhian. For this fight, his earnings are estimated to be around $2.5 million. Meanwhile, Stanionis, the WBA regular champion, is said to have negotiated a purse of around $1.8 million, consolidating his status as one of the highest-paid fighters in his country.

A battle of millions: experience and hierarchy come at a price

The evolution of both fighters is also reflected in their pockets. Ennis, ranked as the number one welterweight in the world by The Ring magazine, has proven to be a knockout machine with 29 stoppages in 33 fights. His explosive style, coupled with his growing popularity, has allowed him to access purses befitting established champions, even without yet facing the biggest names in the division.

Stanionis, on the other hand, has been building his career with a lower profile, but with a solidity that has not gone unnoticed. He already secured 75% of a $2.3 million purse in a previous defense, and this fight represents the most lucrative and momentous opportunity of his career. The chance to unify titles and take Ennis’ unbeaten record puts him in a position of high competitive value, although he is not the favorite in the betting.

The odds favor Ennis

Currently, the main bookmakers give Ennis between an 80 and 85% chance of coming out on top, with odds as low as -560 or -650 at some sites. Stanionis appears to be the clear challenger with payouts in excess of +380, but is unfazed by the challenge. Aware of the magnitude of the fight, the Lithuanian has stated that it will not be easy for either of them, and that this fight is just what boxing needs: number one against number two.

The combination of titles on the line, unbeaten records and a platform like DAZN backing the event makes this fight a revenue magnet. In addition to the guaranteed purses, both fighters could earn additional income from sponsors, performance bonuses and international broadcast rights, especially if the fight offers spectacle and drama.
