Jake Paul’s boxing career is questioned by a UFC veteran who mocks his WBA ranking

Jake Paul continues to dominate headlines-not just for his fights, but for the controversy that follows him.

Known for high-profile bouts with names like Nate Diazand Mike Tyson, Paul has built a career in boxing by blurring the line between athlete and entertainer.

Now ranked No. 14 in the WBA world rankings, Paul finds himself at the center of a heated debate: has he truly earned it?

The boxing community remains divided. Many purists argue that Paul‘s résumé lacks legitimacy, claiming his ranking is more a result of social media fame than ring credentials. UFC legend Chael Sonnen recently joined the discussion, posting a sly comment online.

“Name any 14th-ranked guy in any weight class in boxing who has a more impressive résumé than Jake,” Sonnen declared on Twitter.

While it may appear like a compliment, Sonnen‘s well-known sarcasm suggests otherwise. His remark underlines the broader skepticism about Paul‘s position-especially since his most notable wins have come against retired MMA fighters or aging legends, rather than top-tier professional boxers.

Is It Hype or Real Skill?

Paul‘s supporters argue that his resume, while unconventional, has merit. He has remained active, taken on big-name opponents, and brought massive attention to boxing, especially among younger audiences.

His recent win over Nate Diaz and his controversial bout with Mike Tyson helped fuel his climb into the rankings. Critics, however, insist that the attention he generates shouldn’t substitute for climbing the ranks the hard way.

Regardless of where you stand, it’s hard to ignore Paul‘s presence. His fights draw millions, his name trends with every announcement, and he knows how to sell a narrative.

But not everyone is content with just talk-some want action.

Enter Piers Morgan.

After a fiery interview exchange, the British journalist escalated his feud with Paul by challenging him to settle things in the ring. But it didn’t stop there.

Morgan teamed up with MMA fighter Dillon Danis to issue a challenge to both Jake and Logan Paul for a boxing “double header.” According to Morgan, it’s time to stop talking and start swinging.

While the idea sounds absurd, it’s perfectly in line with Paul‘s brand of spectacle. If there’s one thing Jake Paul thrives on, it’s turning drama into dollar signs.

A wild, headline-grabbing tag-team boxing event could easily be his next move-and fans wouldn’t be shocked if it happened.

Whether you view Jake Paul as a legitimate contender or boxing’s biggest disruptor, one thing is certain: he’s impossible to ignore. His WBA ranking may be debated, but his influence on the sport is undeniable.
