Jake Paul takes aim at Canelo Alvarez before Crawford fight: “More publicity than substance”

Jake Paul has once again thrown darts at Saul Canelo Alvarez as he claims that the Mexican is finished and that his upcoming fight against Terence Crawford will be quite boring.

This comment comes after harsh criticism has been levelled at the Mexican for his fight with William Scull where Alvarez defeated him by unanimous decision, claiming that he could have done much better than the Cuban.

Let’s remember that in the fight on May 3, the Cuban and the Mexican faced each other in Saudi Arabia, where Scull only threw a series of punches against Canelo, but despite this, Alvarez kept the super middleweight titles (WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO).

What did Jake Paul say about Canelo Alvarez?

It is worth noting that a fight between Jake Paul and Canelo Alvarez has been expected for a long time, but the Mexican preferred to get into the ring with Scull, as well as with Terence Crawford, with whom he will face on September 13.

After the press conference about his fight against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., the influencer spoke about Canelo and took the opportunity to continue throwing him as shared in a video through Fight Hub TV.

“100 per cent (I would have done better than Scull), no doubt, I would have beaten Canelo, and this is what I’ve been saying: he’s finished,” he said.

Jake Paul says Canelo is a great fighter but…

While the YouTuber, who has now focused on sports such as boxing, noted that the Mexican is a great fighter, for him, the fight against Crawford is merely publicity.

“Obviously (it will be a better fight) Crawford is a great fighter, Canelo is a great fighter, but I think this has more publicity than substance. We just saw them come out of a boring fight, they’re probably going to run in the 12 rounds,” he said.
