Jake Paul can’t wait to get on the ring to fight former world champion boxer, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., in what will be his biggest test to date as he charts his own path to world champion.
The fight will take place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, Saturday June 28th, a Most Valuable Promotions and Golden Boy event.
The co-main event will be a unified championship bout between Golden Boy’s Mexican WBO & WBA unified cruiserweight champion Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez and Cuba’s former IBF & WBA cruiserweight world champion and WBA mandatory challenger Yuniel Dorticós.
Jake Paul makes Cybertruck explode
Jake Paul posted a video of his intense training to fight the son of legendary Mexican boxer Julio Cesar Chavez. On his latest Instagram video, the American influencer and social media personality interrupts his regular training on a parking lot to face against a powerful Tesla Cybertruck. As soon as Paul punches the vehicle, the truck explodes, which makes Jake fall down.
Some fans had some words for the explosive stunt, with some suggesting that the Cybertruck “explode at anything.”That Tesla definately has to be old,” wrote an IG user. “Another grandpa gonna get knocked out,” commented somebody else.
That’s because Jake Paul’s rival, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., will return to professional boxing for the first time in almost a year, when the Mexican boxer beat former UFC fighter Uriah Hall to leave his record at 54-6-1. The controversial fighter will try to avoid the seventh defeat of his career.
How good is Jake Paul at boxing?
Jake Paul has proven himself to be pretty decent at boxing. A split decision defeat to Tommy Fury cost him some luster, but he’s managed to rebound well by taking out the veteran Nate Diaz and stopping a couple club fighters. He rebuilt momentum, lining up a marquee match up versus Mike Tyson.
Boxing critics have mentioned the fact that Paul deserves some credit for putting in the work with legitimate coaches and sparring partners to build some real boxing skill, which is complimented by natural athleticism and typically a size advantage.
“Historically, Paul ensures he’s the bigger man with the larger reach. He capitalizes on that range advantage with an active and pretty quick jab. In general, he does a nice job of pumping his lead shoulder to hide that strike. He doubles and triples the jab up well, often targeting the body,” wrote Andrew Richardson for MMA Mania.
