Jake Paul does not hold back: his scathing response to Ryan Garcia after criticism for fight with Chavez Jr.

Jake Paul is once again in the spotlight, and this time not for a gratuitous social media provocation, but for a concise yet confident response. After Ryan Garcia expressed doubts about the fight between Paul and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, the influencer replied bluntly: “We’re going to find out now, aren’t we?”. Words that made it clear that despite the criticism, he is willing to face the challenge.

The fight is scheduled for June 28 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, and although it is not against a superstar in his prime, it does represent a change from “The Problem Child’s” previous opponents. Chavez Jr. is not a retired legend or a former MMA fighter, but a Mexican boxer with a professional history, although also with ups and downs that raise legitimate doubts about his current preparation and motivation.

The comment from Garcia that sparked the fire

During a recent interview, Ryan Garcia was asked about the eagerly anticipated fight, and although he avoided giving a favorite, he hinted that Jake Paul might not be ready for the intensity of a true Mexican boxer. “Can Jake handle a professional Mexican fighter? You know it’s hard…” he commented. With that phrase, he questioned Paul’s ability to withstand the pressure and aggressive style that characterizes those who grew up in the tricolor boxing school.

And it’s not just any questioning. Ryan knows what he’s talking about. The Mexican school not only trains with technique, it trains with constant rhythm and with the ability to not let the opponent breathe. Jake Paul has faced big-name figures, yes, but he has rarely been up against someone who combines real experience, mental toughness and a motivation for redemption as strong as Chavez Jr. could have in this fight.

Chavez Jr’s last chance?

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. needs no introduction. His surname carries weight, but his career has been a constant rollercoaster. With a record of 54-6 and 34 knockouts, he was a world champion, although since then his path has been marked by inactivity, frustrating defeats and controversial episodes. In 2024 he was even arrested for illegal possession of weapons and went through rehabilitation, which raised doubts about his current approach.

Even so, this fight against Jake Paul could be his chance to clean up his record and regain some of the respect he has lost. He knows that his father’s name follows him everywhere, but he also understands that a victory over a media figure like Paul would put him back in the international boxing conversation, albeit for reasons other than those that once took him to the top.

Beyond the memes, posts and viral responses, this fight represents something deeper. For Jake Paul, it’s a chance to prove he’s no longer just a media experiment in boxing. For Chavez Jr, it may be the last real chance to reconcile with a sport that once embraced him and then questioned him.
