Mexican fighter Jaime Munguia managed to get the monkey off his back and defeated Frenchman Bruno Surace by unanimous decision in their rematch, after being knocked out in Tijuana months ago. Although the Tijuana native could not pay Surace back in the same way and could not send him to the canvas, he looked better throughout the fight.

In the end, the fight was decided by the judges’ scorecards, who saw the Mexican’s superiority and awarded him the victory that gives him calm and new life in his career after two consecutive defeats.

Munguia dominated Surace

The first rounds were reconnaissance for the Mexican and the Frenchman, with Munguia looking very cautious keeping his distance from Surace, taking into account the right hand that cost him the defeat in Tijuana and learning from his mistake.
