Is Caitlin Clark returning to the court? The detail that the Fever star dropped in her birthday message to Aliyah Boston

Indiana Fever knew how to overcome challenges this season. While injuries affected players such as Caitlin Clark (groin) and Sophie Cunningham (knee), Aliyah Boston remained steadfast.

However, in addition to being a key player on the team, she is also a key friend to her teammates. On her birthday, CC didn’t want to miss the opportunity to send her birthday wishes and hinted at a curious detail.

Is Caitlin Clark returning to the court?

The close relationship that Clark and Boston have built since the former Iowa Hawkeyes joined the team in 2024 has been one of the most notable for fans, both for their chemistry on and off the court.

That’s why, when Caitlin decided to show her love for Boston on her birthday on December 11, it came as no surprise to fans.

On her official Instagram account, the two-time All-Star Game player shared two photos of the two of them, one in color on the court and another in black and white on the bench. “Happy Bday!!!!! love you @aliyah.boston,” she wrote, adding, “excited to be back out there w ya.”

AB quickly reposted CC’s post and added: “My sister. Love you so much!! See you soon. Missed you.”

This hint is probably because both will participate in the FIBA Women’s World Cup 2026 training camp to be held December 12-14 in Durham, North Carolina. Due to the progress in their injury recovery, fans are excited about seeing CC back in action.

After their first year together, injuries to her quadriceps, ankle, and groin forced Clark to end her second season in the WNBA and with the Fever early, playing only 13 games in total.

Meanwhile, AB remained injury-free and averaged 15 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists, along with 1.2 steals and 0.9 blocks in 44 games. She reached the WNBA playoff semifinals, made her third consecutive All-Star appearance, and was selected to the All-WNBA Second Team and All-WNBA Second Defensive Team.

Fortunately, both players will remain with the team in 2026, as only they and Makayla Thompson have contracts with Indiana, and the Fever roster is likely to undergo changes as the rest of their teammates will become free agents. In addition, due to the two new expansion teams joining next year (Toronto Tempo and Portland Fire), each team will be able to protect five players from their roster, which could lead to new signings.
