At just 19 years of age, he has not only shone with the glove, but has also demonstrated positional intelligence, natural leadership and athletic ability to cover multiple positions. Internal reports highlight his ability to execute spectacular plays and his maturity on the diamond. Although he has not yet been called up, Lombard Jr.’s rise is already making noise among fans and the media. If his progression continues, his debut may not be too far away, especially if Volpe fails to stabilize his game in the most demanding stretch of the season.
