In Brazil they don’t understand the whistles against Vinicius: “It doesn’t even happen with the worst neighborhood team”

In Brazil, they cannot believe what Vinicius is experiencing at the Santiago Bernabeu. The Brazilian winger has become the target of boos in Real Madrid’s last home games. Against Levante and also against Monaco, the crowd got fed up with the Brazilian, who is being criticized for his poor performance.

From the other side of the Atlantic, they look on with bewilderment. “The whistling is understandable because Real Madrid fans tend to be very demanding with all the players. What has not been understood is that it has lasted so long,” explained Tati Montovani, a journalist for TNT in Brazil, in statements to El Partidazo (Cope).

Montovani went further: “It’s not normal for it to be like that throughout the whole game and you don’t understand why you do it with a player from your team. That doesn’t happen in Brazil, not even with the worst team in my neighborhood, because in our country the custom is to support your team and your players, 100% and throughout the whole game. We found it quite strange. The criticism is understandable, but the feeling is that with Vini everything is more exaggerated and lines are crossed that with other players do not reach this level of criticism.”

In Brazil, they have not forgotten that Vinicius was chosen as the best player in the world in 2024. Since then, his performance has declined and he has not found his best form again. But they believe that the treatment he is receiving in Madrid does not correspond to what he gave nor what he can still offer. It is a distance that grows every time the number 7 touches the ball and the Bernabeu responds with a murmur.
