Shakur Stevenson continues to insist on fighting Gervonta Davis, claiming that he is ready to prove that he is a better boxer than him. Whether in interviews or on social media, Shakur believes it could be the biggest fight in boxing in recent years, but Davis remains silent
This coming summer, Gervonta is expected to face Lamont Roach Jr. in what would mark the rematch of their first fight that ended in much controversy.
In the past, Gervonta has been very blunt in pointing out that he does not want to fight Stevenson, as he believes that the boxer does not deserve it yet.
“Stop making excuses”
In a talk with Marco Villegas, a boxing expert, with James Prince, Shakur’s manager, they talked about this whole issue involving the boxer he represents and Tank.
“Any time you’ve represented the USA and you’ve won a silver medal with everybody watching you, you know what I mean? That in itself carries the weight of supremacy, so no, we’re not trying to hear that,” James commented.
In fact, I would even advise him to accept the fight and join their ranks.
“I could befriend him and take it to the next level, like advising him and helping him. I like the brother because he’s from the neighborhood, and I know that when we’re all from the neighborhood, we can connect a little better,” said PrinceShakur Stevenson could fight William Zepeda this summer, with no date set. Prince, his representative, sees a future fight with Gervonta Davis as viable, comparing it to Mayweather-Corrales, and describes it as a fight everyone wants to see.
