The history of women’s boxing will experience a night that will go down in history when the undisputed 112-pound world champion, Gabriela ‘Sweet Poison’ Fundora, who will put her WBA, WBO, WBC, IBF and The Ring world titles on the line against the IBF’s number one challenger, Mexico’s Marilyn Badillo.

The flyweight bout, organized by Golden Boy Promotions and Sampson Boxing, is scheduled for 10 rounds, with Californian Fundora coming into the bout with an undefeated record of 15-0 with seven knockouts, while Badillo, from Cuautitlan, Mexico, has a record of 19-0-1 with three KOs in his professional career.

“In my last fight, I made history as the youngest undisputed champion in the world,” said Fundora. “I’m excited to make history again, this time defending my undisputed status against the hungry Badillo.

“This is my first main event and I’m looking forward to showing the world all the effort that the Fundora team puts in to be the best,” added the world champion.

The challenger from the State of Mexico warned: “I worked hard to earn my place and compete for this undisputed championship. I’m excited to make my debut in the United States and make a splash in women’s boxing.”

How much money will the winner of the fight take home?

Before this weekend’s fight, Gabriela Fundora defeated Celeste Alaniz in her previous bout and earned $250,000, in what has been the best payday of her career, and will now have the opportunity to earn more money based on PPV purchases.

The Californian has a guaranteed purse of $350,000, but her earnings could skyrocket to $1.5 million thanks to PPV sales.

While Badillo, undefeated since 2018, is going for Fundora’s title after winning three important consecutive fights against the best opponents in her division: Melissa Meraz, Tania Garcia Hernandez and Graciela Cortes.

Due to her long-term contracts with the promoter and her fight history, Marilyn Badillo’s purse for the fight will be $125,000 guaranteed, but she could earn more thanks to PPV buys, reaching an estimated figure between $400,000 and $600,000.
