From frustration to vandalism: Eagles fans egg Kevin Patullo’s home

Late Saturday morning, the offseason optimism around the Philadelphia Eagles took a troubling turn when someone reportedly hurled eggs at the home of offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo.

The vandalism came just hours after the team’s disappointing Black Friday loss to the Chicago Bears, a 24-15 defeat that only deepened frustration over what many consider a sputtering offense. According to the Moorestown Police Department, the incident occurred around 2:50 a.m., and authorities confirmed eggs were thrown at Patullo’s New Jersey residence.

The backlash from Eagles fans, who are historically passionate, erupted during the game itself, with chants of “Fire Kevin!” ringing throughout the stadium as the offense failed to click. The night’s result dropped Philadelphia’s record to 8-4, casting further doubt on whether they can defend their Super Bowl crown.

Many supporters pointed directly at the offense, which despite high expectations and topend personnel, has consistently underperformed this season. Critics have cited a lack of creativity in play-calling and inconsistent quarterback performance as major contributors to the team’s struggles.

Fans’ frustration crosses a line after a rough night

The act of vandalizing a coach’s home dramatically escalates the already heated criticism surrounding the Eagles’ offensive struggles. Early reports and a video circulated online implied that rocks had been thrown at Patullo’s home.

In official statements, though, police clarified that the objects were eggs and emphasized that the investigation is ongoing. The incident marks an extreme example of fan outrage in recent NFL history, highlighting how deep the disappointment runs in Philadelphia this season.

Patullo, promoted to offensive coordinator this past offseason, has become the center of blame for what many see as poor play-calling. Under his leadership, the offense ranks near the bottom in total yards, passing yards, rushing yards, and points per game, a glaring contrast to the group’s high-paid, star-studded roster.

Despite this scrutiny, Patullo‘s defenders argue that injuries, inconsistent offensive line play, and miscommunication on the field have also contributed to the struggles.

Head coach Nick Sirianni, however, announced that Patullo will retain play-calling duties, insisting the organization must remain united and focus on correcting the offense rather than making sudden personnel changes.

“We have to stick together, trust the process, and get better each week,” Sirianni said in a postgame interview.

The egg-throwing incident serves as a stark reminder of how intense fandom can cross the boundary from passion into harassment.

As the Eagles prepare for their next matchup, a road game against the Los Angeles Chargers, all eyes will be on the offense to see if they can regain momentum and restore confidence in their fervent fanbase.
