Former NFL star calls on Josh Allen to stop making excuses: The Bills want their Super Bowl

The Buffalo Bills survived their visit to the Jacksonville Jaguars in the NFL Playoffs Wild Card round, thanks to a sublime performance from Josh Allen that guided them to a 27-24 victory. This result brings the franchise one step closer to the Super Bowl, the ultimate goal for Buffalo this season.

Former NFL star calls on Josh Allen to stop making excuses: The Bills want their Super Bowl

A Playoffs without Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, or Lamar Jackson

The NFL Playoffs bracket looks completely different without teams led by quarterbacks who have recently been Super Bowl favorites. This shift has not gone unnoticed by analysts, experts, and even former NFL stars.

Former standout running back Le’Veon Bell took to his social media to send a clear message to Josh Allen, pointing out how the AFC playoff landscape has changed and urging him to capitalize on the opportunity to reach – and win – the Super Bowl, just as other great quarterbacks have done.

“No Lamar, no Mahomes, no Burrow. Josh Allen has ZERO excuses this year…”, Bell posted on his X account (formerly Twitter).

The message resonates: the current playoff picture could pave the way for the Bills to reach the Super Bowl LX, set to be played in Santa Clara, California, at Levi’s Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49ers, on February 8, 2026. Such a scenario would mark Josh Allen’s first Super Bowl appearance.

Superior to the Jacksonville Jaguars

Josh Allen absorbed heavy contact but stood firm to overcome the Jaguars in the AFC Wild Card game, delivering the Bills’ first road playoff victory in more than three decades (dating back to January 1993).

Allen completed 28 of 35 passes for 273 yards and one touchdown, while adding two rushing touchdowns. He was sacked just once and turned in a flawless, turnover-free performance, reinforcing his status as one of the elite quarterbacks in the NFL.
